In light of the Paris attacks this month, Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast, his memoir of living and il_fullxfull.276068564writing in Paris in the 1920s, has become a bestseller in France. The book is the number 1 seller on Amazon’s French site.

People are leaving copies of the book at the sites of the attacks. Copies of Hemingway’s memoir. In Paris.

There is never any ending to Paris and the memory of each person who has lived in it differs from that of any other. We always returned to it no matter who we were or how it was changed or with what difficulties, or ease, it could be reached. Paris was always worth it and you received return for whatever you brought to it.
